Welcome Spring to Long Island the Japanese way, with the exciting sounds of the Taiko Drums, the elegance of Japanese music & dance and
a wondrous array of Japanese cultural events for the entire family.

Special Guests, The Taiko Center of Los Angeles, & Kaoru Watanabe, Japanese Fue & Taiko Player, (formerly of internationally renowned Kodo Taiko),will collaborate with Long Island's own
Ryu Shu Taiko.
A Long Island premiere of Tsugaru Shamisen by Mike Penny of L.A. Taiko will certainly be a highlight.

Masayo Ishigure and her Koto group, Miyabi, will once again grace the stage with the sounds of the Koto & Shamisen.

Nihon Buyo Dance by Ichifujikai, Okinawan Dance by Junko Fisher &
10tecomai will present the thrilling rock folk dance Yosakoi Soran.
Kenichi Ebina will once again thrill the audience with his unique Hip-Hop style in a duet with Takahiro Ueno.
A special demo of Kyudo (Zen Archery) will take place outside in the Pond-Garden courtyard.

FREE Exhibitions of Bonsai, Ikebana, Pottery, Sumi-E, Kimono, Shibori tie-dye, Origami Sugar Creations & a complete set of 17th century (reproduction) Samurai Armor and Samurai Swords will fill the Theatre Lobby.
Activities for children will include Origami, Anime/Manga & Martial Arts.
Special Activity: Face Painting ($5): look like a fierce samurai or a beautiful geisha or your favorite manga character.

For adults, there will be an opportunity to partake in the Japanese Tea ceremony "Cha No Yu" presented by the prestigious Omote Senke School of Tea, NYC; and view the elegant beauty of Ikebana. Performances of classical, folk & modern dance and Shakuhachi music will be presented throughout the day.
